Housing demand in Saskatoon should increase

By Scott Tremblay on Monday, January 08, 2018

There are some good economic signs for Saskatchewan in 2018 & 2019.  Many economists expect Saskatchewan to lead the country in economic growth.

Potash has seen strong demand, increasing throughout 2017 and into 2018.  This has led to increasing sales and profits.  This is a good sign going forward.

Agriculture has been a strong point for Saskatchewan and has pulled us through the last few years. There are no signs that this should change going forward.

Oil production in Canada is expected to be high in 2018 as there is large demand in the US and globally.  We will likely see more oil rigs running in Saskatchewan than we have seen for years.

If these current trends continue it will create job growth both directly in these industries and indirectly for those businesses that service these industries.  In general there will be more investment into our province as well.
On the housing side of things, if Agriculture, Potash and Oil industry have sustained growth in profits and production, there will be an increase in housing demand.
